Linking App Developers Directly With Targeted Consumers

We Are An App Wholesale Marketplace, NOT An App Store!

Now, what do you mean by “wholesale marketplace” you may ask. Well, for one, we are not positioning ourselves as an app store for sure. A “store” gives an impression of a retail outlet where the store owner earns a profit from the products that they sell. The store owner determines the prices or profit margins that they want to earn. As in the case of the app industry, 30% margin is the standard. There is also not much control for the app developers to deal with the buyers directly on issues such as refunds, guarantees, technical support, bulk discounts, etc.

With MobileApps.com, we are not an app store. We are an app marketplace whereby we will provide the facilities i.e. payment processing, marketing, downloads, etc for the product owners (app developers). We are not even charging any setup fees or monthly fees. The only fee that we charge is 5% per download price and even that, 3.95% goes to our payment processing bank. We maintain only 1.05% for administrative charges. This means for every paid download, 95% of the sale price goes to the app developer.

Without taking a chunk out of the sale, app developers can now cut out the middle man and sell directly to end-buyers at wholesale prices. Either that or, just simply maintain the retail price and earn a fatter margin. It is up to the developers! Now this is what we mean by an app wholesale marketplace.

Then, how do MobileApps.com make money?

I guess that is where advertising will cover our behind :) . We will monetize the marketplace with advertising and that should do it. If not, then remember our “App Discovery” thingy where we place our “Smart Widgets” on a global network of publishers? That is where we hope we can make something from.. I guess :)

With this in mind, please let us know what other facilities that we can provide for and we will put that in our development pipeline. (In the comment area below please.)

Best, Al

PS: Remember to spread the word ya, guys!
